PREPARATION - PRICES - TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT

This exam studies you colon (large intestines) by administering baryum and air via a rectal tube. X-Rays are taken after your colon has been filled.

It is very important that you follow the preparations to clean your colon adequately before the exam.  The baryum enema takes 20 to 30 minutes.  We use a fluoroscopy machine to perform the exam.

PREPARATION

This step in very important :  your colon must be cleaned befor the exam.  Please obtain the ROYVAC kit at the pharmacy and follow the instructions.  Beguin at noon, the day before your appointment.

Il your exam in is the afternoon :  one hour before the exam, you may take a coffee or juice and one toast with jam.

PRICES

None.  This exam is covered by your health insurance card (RAMQ).  You must present the  card, and the signed prescription for the exam.
