Ultrasound-guided injection

What is an ultrasound-guided injection?

An ultrasound-guided injection is a medical procedure that involves injecting a medication (usually an anti-inflammatory, sometimes combined with an anesthetic or a viscosupplement) directly into a joint, bursa, or around a tendon to relieve pain and reduce inflammation. The injection is performed under ultrasound guidance, which allows the area to be treated to be visualized precisely, the needle to be guided safely, and the effectiveness of the treatment to be improved.

Ultrasound-guided injection is available at our affiliated clinic, Radiologie Montérégie.
